Biometric screening is a private health check that looks at some of the basic measures of your health. It is aimed at younger adults who feel well but want to know where they stand. Many conditions, such as high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease, can start quietly. Picking up early signs gives you the chance to act sooner.
What happens at your appointment
We take a few simple measurements and talk through the results with you. The check includes:
- Height, weight and BMI
- Blood pressure
- Blood tests
- A review of your lifestyle, including diet, exercise and smoking
We explain what each result means in plain terms. If anything needs a closer look, we will tell you what to do next and, where appropriate, suggest you speak to your GP.
Who it is for
The screening is designed for young adults who would like a clearer picture of their health. You do not need to have any symptoms. If you have questions about whether it is right for you, our pharmacist is happy to talk it through first.
