NHS and private flu jabs, from September each year.

Book Flu vaccination

Flu can be far more serious than a heavy cold, particularly for older people and anyone living with a long-term health condition. At Pangbourne Pharmacy we offer the seasonal flu vaccine to NHS eligible patients free of charge, and privately for anyone who does not meet the NHS criteria. The appointment takes only a few minutes.

Who can have a free NHS flu jab

The NHS offers the injected flu vaccine free of charge to people considered at higher risk. You may be eligible if you:

  • are 65 or over
  • have certain health conditions
  • are pregnant
  • live in long-stay residential care
  • receive Carer's Allowance, or are the main carer for an older or disabled person who would be at risk if you fell ill
  • live with someone who is more likely to get a severe infection because of a weakened immune system

If you are not sure, our pharmacist can talk it through with you and help you work out which criteria, if any, you meet.

What happens on the day

There is a short form to complete first. Our counter staff will help you with it if you would like a hand. The pharmacist will then check a few details with you and give the vaccine in your upper arm.

If you are not eligible

We can give you the same vaccination as a private service. Autumn is the best time, before flu begins circulating.

Booking
