Get a chickenpox vaccination for yourself or your family, arranged privately without waiting for a GP appointment
Chickenpox is a common childhood illness, but it can be unpleasant, and some people would rather not risk catching it. At Pangbourne Pharmacy we offer chickenpox vaccination privately, so you can arrange it for yourself or for someone in your family without waiting for a GP appointment.
This service is provided privately, which means there is a charge. Our team will explain everything clearly before anything goes ahead.
What happens at your appointment
You will have a short, friendly conversation with the pharmacist first. We will ask about general health, any medicines being taken, any allergies, and whether there has been chickenpox in the past. This helps us check the vaccination is suitable.
If it is suitable, the vaccination is given in the upper arm. It only takes a moment. We will then talk through what to expect afterwards and answer any questions you have.
Who it is for
Chickenpox vaccination may be of interest to families, and to adults who have not had chickenpox before. Suitability is decided during your consultation, so please do ask if you are unsure whether it is right for you.
How to book
Appointments can be booked online. If you would rather speak to someone first, call in or ring the pharmacy and we will be glad to help you arrange a time.
